Wonderful floating mantel shelf filled with original old character. This approximately 3.5 x 9.5 x 54 inch mantel has all original outsides. It has not been cut in any dimension other than length. We find pieces this size in the barn as door jams for the cow door to the milking parlor. This is where the cows came in and out twice a day for milking.
This mantel is a great example of the character that reclaimed wood can provide. It is laden with nail holes, flowing cracks, knots, worm trails, and great color variation. You can see the warm saddle browns accented with lots of nearly black hues. You can see a few original pictures before we worked this mantel up. This mantel has a Rubio Monocoat finish applied.
This is a great little mantel shelf just waiting for the right home.

We are literally a mom-and-pop shop that does lots of custom work. We often just don’t quite find enough time to update this website regularly.

Mantels with Metal
We work with a great local blacksmith to add metal straps and other ornamentation to our mantels. He is the real deal — coal forged and hand hammered. The metalwork has great color and tight fit. Nothing machined. We can start with a finished mantel you find on our site, or we can start with raw stock for more options.

Installation
