This source wood came from our Amish wood vendor located in the picturesque rolling hills of Wisconsin. We have deeply enjoyed working with him and his family. The wood business that he grew over the years is now primarily being worked by his sons. This exact piece came from a barn in Wisconsin, probably dating back to the late 1800s. By 1900, sawmills were abundant and people rarely hand-hewed beams anymore.

While the history is not clear, it looks like there is a adjacent company called the Shores-Muller Company which was also located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
