A few times a year, we make the trip out to visit our dear Amish friends nestled in the rolling hills of Wisconsin — and honestly, it’s one of our favorite parts of what we do. These families are warm, generous, and genuinely joyful people. Walking their land feels like the world slows down in the best possible way. Horses work the fields, kids wave from passing buggies, and the air smells like fresh cut wood and open country. About the tag –We tag each mantel with a piece of history — this one wears a Lionel Trains advertisement from a 1953 Farm Journal Magazine. Lionel was the toy of the era, every kid’s Christmas dream in postwar America. Those gleaming locomotives under the tree defined a generation. It’s a fitting label for a piece of wood with just as much character and history running through its grain.
