This is a red oak beam from an original settler log cabin in Wisconsin. Although it is red oak, by the weight of it, you’d swear it was white oak. This is a heavy one. The top and bottom are pretty close to original color. The face has been stained slightly with Chocolate Monocoat to blend in the color. This log cabin dates back to the late 1800s and was recently dismantled by an Amish gent.
Because this is pre-done mantel, it's running a little less expensive than a custom selected mantel. It can be cut shorter if that fits your fireplace better.
