 The four hand hewn sides have great, large felling ax marks spaced wide apart. This is a less typical hand hewn piece. Most of our material is either hand-hewn on just 2 sides, or has more aggressive hewing throughout. One of the old lumberjacks could probably tell you if it was a winter or a summer cut because of how this is hewn. Note, the wood was a little wet when the pictures were taken, so it looks a little "sloppier" than it will once dry. The other half of this timber was just sold. Hopefully we'll have finished pictures of that soon. There's also a cut mate to this one
