While not so commonly used in the United States, Yellow Elm (aka American Elm) is an incredibly beautiful floor. Elm is commonly used in furniture in Europe. People have shied away from it because of the twisty nature of the grain. With stronger, modern machines, this poses little problem.
We do, however, recommend that don't exceed 5, maybe 6, inches in width to reduce the chances of cupping and crowning.
